The Director of Operations is in charge of an organization’s operations strategy and related targets. They are responsible for implementing growth and development plans, monitoring team performance and furthering commitments to customer service and quality assurance. What’s more, the Director of Operations manages risks, controls costs and ensures compliance with prevailing laws and regulations.

Directors of Operations have the following roles and responsibilities:

Operations strategy and related targets: providing a long-term vision for the organization with short-term goals to achieve these ambitions
Team manager and leader: taking responsibility to manage, support and upskill teams with a focus on improving performance and fulfilling the set targets
Requirements for customer service and quality: ensuring that company targets are met as well as compliance with quality and safety standards and best-in-class customer satisfaction
Risk management and cost control: monitoring and managing risks associated with operations, safety and compliance and controlling operational costs
Compliance with laws and regulations: making sure that the company complies with prevailing laws and regulations
